Which container do I need for concrete?
A lowboy - never a standard 15/30/40. If the load is 100% concrete-family material (concrete, rock, gravel, sand, brick, cinder block, pavers), it qualifies as a clean lowboy: recycled into Type 2 gravel at our own plant at a discounted rate. Anything else mixed in makes it a mixed lowboy. Either way, no weight limit.
Can dirt and concrete go together?
In a mixed lowboy, yes - it takes any heavy material with no sorting. But keep them separate if you can: a clean, 100%-concrete lowboy gets the discounted recycled rate. Even a little trash or dirt makes the whole load mixed.
How much weight can I put in a dumpster?
The 15, 30, and 40 yard containers include up to 6 tons (12,000 lbs); over that, overweight charges apply. Lowboys have no weight limit - just load level with the lid. Heavy material (concrete, asphalt, dirt, rock, brick, tile, soil, sod, stone) always goes in a lowboy.
Which size do I need for my job?
Rule of thumb: lowboy for concrete, dirt, and any heavy debris; 15 yard for interior demo and tight sites; 15 or 30 yard for roofing tear-offs, since shingles hit the weight allowance long before the walls; 30 yard for everyday construction; 40 yard for large demos and high-volume jobs.
